The issue with Lebannon is directly connected to the rising power of Shi'ites in Iraq, Iran and Palestine. The Shi'a supporters have grown into the majority, and can therefore push any electorial decision. Suppressing Hesbollah is baldly calling for a subversion of any democracy in the Islamic world. Is that what we really want? Many side with Hesbollah simply because they see them as the only opposition short of desparate terrorism, to the US hegemony. We've tried to subvert similar groups, Iraq is a great example and the allies we made to do it were why we are occupying Iraq today. A neutral position for a change is probably called upon, as we haven't been successful in the past, and don't need to poke any more sticks in this hornet's nest.

On February 22, Turkish forces again invaded the sovereign space of the Iraqi Kurdish Autonomous Zone. This is one of many acts by Turkey to suppress Kurdish culture and autonomy in any form throughout the region.

It will be a toss-up between the Evangelicals and Scientologists for the more patently absurd gloss overs of such events as the Salem witch hangings, The Klu Klux Klan anti-Catholic crusade, Henry Ford's rant's about the "International Jew", and Father Cochlin's anti semitic radio rants.

A labyrinthine ammendment fuelled by paranoia. It's only certain effect will be a flood of financing to black hole operations.

A dangerous ammendment that reduces checks and balances between the executive and legislative branches of governent. It opens the door to corruption to the office of the president, as donations could be given to aquire budgetary favor with the White House.

An expensive and redundant ammendment, that sidesteps the right of the electorate to determine their representation.

This amendment is a gross overstepping of Executive power, at odds with the very idea of checks and balances, by which the legislative branch is empowered. It would require the president to employ a wing of budget experts, redundent to those which already exist for the Legislature, and numerous government departments. The cost alone should be a red flag to any.

Automated calling is often used as an eleventh hour technique to tweek close results in an election. The technique often employed is to use a particularly inflammitory bit of info about a rival candidate or initiative. It is very easy to target specific areas, and it is cheap. Automated calling is an unwelcome intrusion in the homes of many who are on the national "do not call" list. The "robocallers" do not bother checking the list, as it would add considerable time and expense. Furthermore, these temporary collaborations between the political agent and the contracted service provider do not usually have any insurance against slander and liability. Owing to the nature of this technique it is inevitable that those are the very things being promulgated.

Kurds are being suppressed in Turkey, denied the right to speak their native language. One of the few Kurdish parlamentarians was jailed for speaking her native language. The PKK as such no longer exists, as it was dependent on the defunct Soviet Union. In truth they are few Kurds who endorse any form of Socialism, and there is no longer any support from Russia or other former Socialist nations. Any Kurdish group critical or active against Turkish oppression and/or endorsing a Kurdish homeland is generically labeled PKK or Kurdish/Kurdistan Workers Party. The USA has interests with both Turkey and the Kurds in the entire region. Most Kurds have worked with the USA at every opportunity, and are presently the most stable, and self governing part of Iraq. The Turkish government is afraid that Kurds will gain control of the oil in Northern Iraq and use it to form a Kurdish state, competitive with Turkey, for both oil revenues and USA patronage. The Kurdish people are have different religious beliefs, predominantly Moslem, but also including the Yezidi, Yarsani, and Alevi faiths. A Kurdish state would likely be secular. The USA and EU need to exert pressure on Turkey to recognize their Kurdish minorities basic human rights, it isn't in our interest to take one side to the detriment of the other.

The administration lied to invade Iraq, they forged a letter from the Iraqi Chief of Intelligence to justify their false claims and paid the same five million dollars to keep quiet, all this has been amply documented in Ron Suskind's book "The Way of the World". There isn't any excuse for tolerating this group of gangsters any longer.
